Many of you have seen my postings for a Java developer. We've yet to fill
the position and I want to ping everyone @ PJUG again as I feel we have a
fantastic opportunity.

 

We're looking for someone to work within our small, well established (50
years +) and successful company, and lead the development of the java based
learning management system that drives our business (currently 45,000 active
users). The opportunity is immediate.

 

We're a small group, so you'll have the opportunity to work directly with
key stakeholders (management, the course development team, etc.)

We're looking to add a full time Java application developer to our team to
help drive the development of our Learning Management and ecommerce web
applications to the next level.

You'll be responsible for maintaining our current code base and working with
management and our development team in designing and implementing new
features. You'll need to work efficiently, learn independently, and work
well within a team environment. You'll need to prove strong attention to
detail, great organizational skills, and technical writing ability.

The essentials:
. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering
. Very strong software engineering skills (using web-based and object
oriented technologies) 
. Minimum 3 years of experience developing JAVA applications in a J2EE based
application server development environment using the following technologies:
Java Servlets and Java Server Pages (JSP), JavaScript, ActionScript,
concurrency/multithreading and MVC architectures
. Very strong database skills including SQL, JDBC, and MySql

Desirables:
. A talent for user interface design and familiarity with graphics
applications
. Experience managing, optimizing, and securing web application delivery
servers and applications including Windows 2008 Server, IIS, Tomcat, and
MySQL
