[PJUG Javamail] Talking about Oracle and Java?

I know Oracle is one of our corporate benefactors and provides a meeting
space, etc., however, I also know I'm not the only one taking a good hard
look at Java's future right now (along with MySQL) given the news Oracle
keeps making. Given all of this and given that we're talking to some extent
about speculation, would PJUG be an inappropriate place to discuss Java's
future? Is there another more appropriate forum locally? I find myself
wanting to talk strategy with fellow developers from the area. However I'm
trying to be sensitive to how that could go seriously OT.
