Title: Sr. J2EE Architect

Senior J2EE Architect to be responsible for application development and configuration management and will provide leadership and mentoring for the programming staff. This position will ensure that good programming standards and practices are identified and followed, and utilize project management skills to plan, track, and communicate development activities.
 
Sr. Architect shall lead activities for system analysis, Java development, and system architecture as a member of a multi-disciplinary, blended team under the overall direction of the Program Leader.  Sr. Architect shall perform this consistent with the requirements, specifications, and schedules set forth in the program plan, project plan, and project schedule, all as amended from time to time.  
 
Duties include, but are not limited to, analysis, new development, bug fixes, source control management, design reviews, code reviews, requirements validation, and testing.  Sr. Architect shall perform work using established development, maintenance, and acceptance criteria methodologies.  In the absence of established methodologies, Sr. Architect shall complete the work according to methodologies and standards that conform to documentation standards, definitions, and recommended practices known to be generally accepted in the industry.
 
Sr. Architect is required to work on one or more of the identified releases and to maintain alignment, compatibility, and interoperability among the various releases consistent with the project plan and project schedule, and the overall program plan.  Sr. Architect is also required to adhere to tight deadlines and to coordinate and manage a large number of tasks..  Thus, Sr. Architect should expect to work some evenings and weekends to meet and maintain the release schedules.

·        J2EE application development
·        Java application servers (JBoss, Oracle Application Server, WebSphere)
·        Data intensive application development
·        Web technologies: HTML, JavaScript, JSP, JDBC
·        RDBMS (Oracle, PL/SQL)
·        ORM (Hibernate)
·        IDE (Eclipse)
·        Source code management (SVN, CVS)
 
The person in this position must have experience with Java (J2EE) utilizing application servers such as JBoss, Oracle Application Server, or IBM WebSphere; data intensive web application development including HTML, JavaScript, Java Server Pages, and JDBC; and an object relational mapping framework such as Hibernate. Knowledge of web development frameworks such as EJB, Spring MVC, Struts 2, and Java Server Faces is highly desirable. The person in this position must have experience utilizing an IDE such as Eclipse; source code management software such as SVN or CVS; and experience with the Oracle database management system and SQL.
