but I would still say that the challenges that I mentioned are probably still
pertinent. It's not an issue of whether jobs are being outsourced from the US
to somewhere else or within the US - there are challenges which are
overlooked and probably should be considered as the overall cost of
sub-contracting any chunk of work. The raw cost benefit is not the only
picture.
Things such as what kind of work it is ( support is a lot different from
software development which is different from IT), timezone differences,
business climate, cultural differences, etc etc.
I am not saying that it isn't doable .. just that there are challenges which
are not given any thought until companies go down this path and realize that
maybe they should have thought of these issues.
