I would also suggest Oracle Jdeveloper
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/index.html. It is a
free IDE that comes with a CPU Profiler (cpu time, elapsed time,
blocked and wait time, io wait time, etc), and a Memory profiler (you
can attack components that overwhelm GC by creating too many objects
and memory leaks). Jdeveloper proved itself useful during my
"performance weeks".
