Senior Software Engineer - UI

For over 20 years Chrome has been an industry leader in providing data
to the automotive industry. From collection, aggregation and
normalization of configuration data to VIN decoding and vehicle
descriptions, Chrome is synonymous with quality and accuracy. Our
clients include multinational automotive manufacturers, large scale
consumer facing automotive portals, providers of dealer management
systems, dealers and dealer website providers. We distribute our data in
a variety of formats including web services, web-based applications,
stand-alone applications and data products.

Our Engineering group is currently looking for a Senior Software
Engineer with experience in UI Development , building robust, browser
independent, web-based user interfaces.  The UI Development position
will focus on the consumption of Chrome's core web services and the
development of web-based user interfaces.

Job functions include:

*	Development of web-based user interfaces using java, JSP, java
script and Google Web Toolkit

*	Effective use of dev tools (e.g. IDE's, version control, build
scripts, bug tracking). 
*	Creation of accurate time estimates for development projects and
features.
*	Documentation at the java doc, functional, and
design/specification level. 
*	Assisting in supporting and troubleshooting production
applications.
*	Working with the product team and software development manager
to refine functional specifications.

 

Experience and education requirements:

*	Minimum of 5 years experience in Javascript  (experience with
ECMAScript preferred)
*	Minimum of 4 years experience in HTML/XHTML, DHTML and XML
*	Minimum of 3 years experience in JSP and Java Servlets
*	Minimum of 2 years experience in Web 2.0 & AJAX
*	Minimum of 1 year experience in Google Web Toolkit (Version 1.6
preferred)
*	Minimum of 1 year experience in Metro 
*	BS/MS degree in Comp. Science or related field or 5 years
experience. 
*	Minimum of 8 years designing /developing commercial software. 
*	Strong object-oriented and system design skills. 
*	Experience developing and deploying web applications.
*	Experience developing in a Microsoft Windows environment.
*	Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

 

While the primary function will be centered on UI and web service
development, candidates with experience in the any of the following
areas will be preferred:

*	Database development using Oracle/SQL including both the
creation of database objects and writing SQL.
