I recommend checking out STS from Spring source. It is by far the best
eclipse IDE I have tried yet.

Oh, I meant to plug springsource's training since Steve mentioned their STS.
I took the Spring Core training a few weeks ago. Expensive, but damn, it was
the best training I've ever had. The instructor was knowledgeable, the labs
in class were nicely focused, the documentation was good. I'm struggling to
think of a negative other than it's a $2000 course (4 days).

Not in any way affiliated, just a happy customer. If you've got someone that
needs to learn Spring quickly, it's a good class.
