My client, a NYC based financial services firm, is seeking top talent in the Portland area to join their development team.

As a developer, the appropriate candidate will be responsible for working on new and existing Java applications that handle my clients' trade processing and investor shareholder activities. One of the major attractions of this position is that as a member of this remote team, you will have the benefit of working on the firms most important, strategic mission critical applications while being able to live in beautiful Oregon.

Primary Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

 *   Working with the team in Portland as well as the home office in Manhattan and a team in Seattle on ongoing application development.
 *   On occasion, providing second-line support for the functionality currently in production.
 *   Occasional travel may be necessary.
Technical qualifications include but are not limited to:

 *   Production experience with the Java technology stack, including core java packages, concurrent programming theory.
 *   Experience with Java Swing.
 *   Experience delivering software appl production that solves complex business problems.
 *   Advanced programming concepts such as test-driven development, OO design patterns and refactoring.
 *   Experience using jUnit and Mock objects.
 *   Experience working on a team that uses iterative development,  Agile (such as SCRUM) planning cycle.
 *   Experience with continuous integration concepts and the tools that support it.
 *    Proficiency with Linux , UNIX, Solaris 10, including scripting in Bourne.
 *   Experience working in a collaborative environment, pair programming and group code reviews.
 *   Financial services a plus.
