OK, just a few days after I sent this, Sun put out their call on the
JavaOne web page (http://java.sun.com/javaone/ ). Here're the key
paragraphs:

Stand out from the crowd - show what you know. Your expertise helps make
the JavaOne Conference community dynamic and leading edge. We'd like you
to share that knowledge and be the Rock Star you are. The conference
curriculum will be organized across four key areas supporting and
surrounding the Java platform; pick the area that best suits your
expertise and submit your paper. We're looking for interesting,
innovative, and technical papers on the following topics:

*	Rich Media Applications and Interactive Content
<http://java.sun.com/javaone/2009/topics.jsp#1>
*	Mobility <http://java.sun.com/javaone/2009/topics.jsp#2>

*	Services <http://java.sun.com/javaone/2009/topics.jsp#3>
*	Core Technologies
<http://java.sun.com/javaone/2009/topics.jsp#4>

The Call for Papers will close December 19, 2008. Submit your paper
today! <http://www28.cplan.com/cfp_prod/CFPLogin.jsp?wId=69MQ81>

I haven't received the call for papers from JavaOne yet - last year

the deadline was about this time.

I've looked at the JavaOne web site, and they just say "November marks

the time where you can submit your paper for an opportunity to present

at this year's conference" but don't give any links or dates.

Anyone heard anything?

Doug
