Job description:  SENIOR JAVA ENGINEER

 

Tightly knit engineering team building out the next generation SaaS platform
for Supplier Information Management needs a collaborative addition to the
team.  The engineer will work as part of the core product team in building
innovative collaboration solutions for our on-demand Supplier Information
Management platform. Aravo Solutions is based in San Francisco, CA with a
second engineering office in Portland, OR.  Engineering positions are
currently available in both offices. 

 

The position requires technical expertise, the ability to communicate
effectively within the team environment, and the ability to see the big
picture while still enjoying a hands-on role.  You'll be building a highly
configurable, multi-tenant application that incorporates
cross-organizational, collaborative workflows, data integration, and a rich
user interface built on a complex data model. The successful candidate will
help in developing the platform's architectural framework with a strong eye
towards scalability.

 

Key skills include technical problem solving, breaking down complex problems
into manageable components and, above all, building a solution that
addresses customer business needs while supporting the longer term vision of
the company. Working in a dynamic environment with evolving product
requirements and constant feedback from multiple sources is also a key to
success in this position.

Required Skills 

 

*           Senior level java engineer with 5+ years hands-on experience

*           Expert in J2EE web applications (EJB, JMS, JDBC/SQL, Servlets,
JSP, etc.)

*           Strong Object Oriented analysis and design

*           Familiarity with a variety of open source tools and libraries

*           Experience in full software life cycle development: analysis
through release

*           Great communication skills, highly self-motivated and good
teamwork

*           BS in CS or equivalent

*           Authorized for full time employment in the United States

 

Desirable

 

*           Experience with e-Procurement, SRM or Fulfillment applications

*           Experience in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility

*           Experience with distributed workflow systems

*           Comprehensive understanding of XML and related technologies

*           Expertise with Java based web services
