[PJUG Javamail] JMS without the installer (win32)

I wanted to check out JMS, but the installer hangs every time at a
"configuring" point. Is JMS pure Java (no native functions) such that I
could grab the Linux binary, stuff it on a linux box, then copy the
necessary jar files to my win32 system to make things work?
I hate to have to hack a JMS install like this, but I'll be damned if I can
figure out why the win32 installer is hanging. Unless someone happens to
know if the JMS installer creates a log file somewhere?
