Application Architect

Responsible for development, implementation, and standardization of software architecture aligned with the enterprise vision and strategic direction.
Position Overview
The Application Architect is responsible for development, implementation and standardization of software architecture. The Application Architect reports to the Principal Architect. While meeting business requirements, the Application Architect ensures that software architecture is aligned with the enterprise vision and strategic direction, with the current and future state of enterprise architecture, and with business drivers. The Application Architect constructs the software architecture artifacts for applications (including design patterns and idioms, analysis patterns, frameworks, strategies and best practices), and provides guidance to software engineers on technical design and object modeling. The Application Architect enhances developer productivity through configuration and deployment of automation technologies including tooling, code generation, frameworks, and prototyping.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Engineering degree
Minimum of 5-8 years of industry experience
Deep technical knowledge
Multiple successes in large?scale software architecture customization, implementation, and deployment
Experience in Enterprise-level clustering and load, balancing, fail-over, scalability, interfacing, and scripting.
Proficiency in Java, C++ and scripting languages
Demonstrable knowledge of J2EE, SOA, design patterns, system integration, search technologies, database technologies, authentication and authorization, networking, Linux & Windows OS.
Personal Characteristics
Candidate must be goal oriented, energetic team player with the ability to work under pressure on multiple projects. Candidate must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written; the ability to work well with people from many different disciplines and varying degrees of technical experience; and good organization and presentation abilities.
