Application Architect

Position Overview
The Application Architect will be responsible for design, development, implementation and standardization of software architecture. In this role you will collaborate with team of architects and development team leads, software engineers to align application architecture, detailed design, and implementation. As an application architect you will construct software architecture artifacts and provide design guidance to software engineers on technical design and object modeling. 



 


Primary Responsibilities 



·        


Develops prototypes and proof-of concept applications. 



·        


Develop and implement core libraries, core components and core enterprise services. 



·        


Effectively communicates application architectural vision across teams 



·        


Constructs and maintains architecture artifacts for individual applications and software platforms. 



·        


Guides architectural evolution toward a well articulated future state. 


·        


Participates in review and evaluation of requirements, designs, code



·        


Recommends and evangelizes tools and methods that enhance the productivity, quality, and effectiveness of software development activities.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
·        


Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field. 

·        


Five to eight years experience as a member of a software development team.

·        


Proficiency in Java, C, C++, and scripting languages 

·        


Hands on coding experience in a variety of architecture environments  
with demonstrated knowledge of application integration design patterns, interface and integration solution development

·        


Experience with designs and practices for enterprise-level clustering and load balancing, fail-over, scalability, interfacing, and scripting. 

·        


Demonstrable knowledge of design patterns and idioms, analysis patterns, frameworks, strategies and best practices.

·        


Demonstrable knowledge of J2EE, SOA, search technologies, database technologies, authentication and authorization, networking, Linux & Windows OS. 

Desired Qualifications



Knowledge of financial services and/or telecommunications domains.


Experience designing applications to manage personally identifiable information 


Personal Characteristics
Candidate must be goal oriented, energetic team player with the ability to work under pressure on multiple projects.
